Time To Refresh Your Home's Decor - it's Labor Day and Sales Are Everywhere!

With most holidays, observed or symbolic, there are sales.  There are even sales that have created unofficial holidays - Cyber Monday to Amazon Prime Days.  But, Labor Day can be one of the best opportunities to shop for, and find great deals on new furnishings, fixtures, home decor - everything you need to refresh your homes style (whether considering a move or not!).   From local boutiques, to furniture stores and some national chains, many offer complimentary design services.

The editors of House Beautiful have curated a great list for Labor Day 2019 sales you can find online here.

But don't forget to check your favorite local sources - I'd bet the house they will be having a sale also (just turn on the TV and you'll see ads for every furniture store in the city)!

Hurricane Season is Here.....

In addition to our continuing to monitor the National Flood Insurance Program's ongoing renewal effort in Congress, we encourage all of our clients and the community to begin planning now and be ready in the event a Hurricane or Tropical Storm threatens the greater New Orleans area.

Here are a few great resources below with easy to follow checklists.

NOLA Ready

Ready.GOV - Hurricanes

These sites provide complete checklists for you and your family to prepare in advance.    Some of the most important and often overlooked tips include:

*  Check your homeowners and flood insurance policies
*  Do a visual check of your home's roof and any working shutters you may close prior to a storm and repair any issues you see
*  Clean the nearest catch basin on your street - or help your neighbors clear you block's drainage basins.
*  Prior to a storm, make sure you secure any outdoor furniture, plants or objects that may become loose and harmful during a strong wind event.
